Spring 2019
Virginia Symphony Orchestra - $2,000 to support the presentation of "Meet the Families," an interactive children's library event focused on instrument families of the orchestra followed by a string quartet recital for the general public in collaboration with the Mathews Memorial Library.
Mathews County Public Schools - $2,000 to support a field trip for students to provide exposure to live theater, classic tales, history, and Sixth graders will perform an actual production in the school.
Bay School Community Arts Center - $3,000 to support ten outreach programs in Mathews County; the grant dollars provide funding for teacher pay and art materials. The programs offer hands-on learning, creating visual arts and crafts.
Bay School Community Arts Center - $1,320 to support art programming specifically for families, so that they may participate at no cost; this includes Mommy & Me classes that currently have a tuition fee and two new family art sessions.
Mathews County Historical Society, Inc. - $1,000 for the publication of a book titled Historic Homes and Properties of Mathews County, Virginia Pre-Civil War. The fourth book in a Series of Five.
The Court House Players - $1,200 to support a musical drama camp for children aged 6-18. This includes a week-long residency camp and a final musical performance open to the public.
